Steampunk Podcasts for Your Listening Pleasure

Greetings all you SuperMankind out there!

The end of August means back to school for students and those of us “lucky” enough to be educators, so this post will be quick. I’ve found a couple of interesting Steampunk podcasts I’d like to suggest:

Steampunk Dollhouse
https://www.spdhpod.com/

This podcast, hosted by the intrepid librarian “Bluestockings”, delves into a Steampunk novel or series every show and discusses its relationship with both the genre and Victorian issues like colonialism, racism, and sexism among others. Long (roughly 1.5 hours each) but well worth the listen if there’s a book you’ve thought about giving a try but want to know more about it first. Her Steampunk Survival Guides are also quite illuminating!

Texas Steampunk Connection
https://texassteampunkconnection.podbean.com/

These three hosts talk about various topics of interest to the Steampunk community as well as give a regular roundup of Steampunk-friendly events in the Lone Star State. Based out of Austin, these Three Amigos have their fingers on the pulse of Texas Steampunk and give interesting interviews and topical discussions. The most recent shows (Season 3, episode 4-6) cover the Victorian gothic horrors of Frankenstein, Dracula and Jekyll/Hyde.

Please give both a listen, and tell them Victorious sent you!
