Keeping busy with the Trolls!

Hello all,

My apologies for the inactivity on this blog over the past bit. Life is Lifin’ as the “kids” say. 😉

As some of you know I’ve been tapped by Troll Lord Games to be head writer on the Castle Zagyg dungeons beyond the castle itself and first level. Those were done successfully by Gary Gygax and Jeff Talanian, and I can only hope I do as well from Gygax’s notes and input from Luke Gygax. As an “Old School” D&D player (1979+) I’m trying to keep the OS spirit alive while emphasizing the modern mechanics of Castles and Crusades. We shall see how successful that is in the future. My current goal is one dungeon level every six weeks or so, and we’ll see how that goes as work progresses.

Three fairies dance together.Since this is a Victorious blog, I’ll point out how Fantasy adventures certainly tie into the Victorian literary world that is the baseline for the chronicles. Even beyond the interest in Spiritualism and belief in fairies (Cottingley Fairies and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle), there were works such as the House on the Borderland by William Hope Hodgson and various novels by Lord Dunsany. Besides, what’s more Super-Heroic than genre mixing?
